sushi pt.3

Had dinner w/my gal pals at Yama down Dam Neck. I usually eat at Domo, but I had to switch it up a bit. We had katsu, gyozas, shrimp tempura, deep sea scallops, the earthquake roll, the candy cane roll, and the sunset roll. I could barely finish one roll, I was so stuffed…

Valentine’s Day weekend is here!! I’m excited 🙂 Hope there’s a new camera waiting for me…haha. Jk, but not really.

dim sum…

don’t you want some?

A little Chinese food never hurt anyone. Unless of course you eat it a lot! I’m not big on Chinese food, but I refused to stay home for dinner on Snow Day #2.  After watching When In Rome (don’t waste your money), I grabbed an early dinner at Jade Villa then had my usual Chocolate Tuxedo Cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory! Chooommp. And you know what’s so great about just one slice? It can last me three days!!

I think I might make some tacos for dinner! Taco Tuesday!

balancing the good & the bad…

Okay…maybe the sushi I pick isn’t all that great for me, but it’s gotta be better than pizza and hot dogs, right?

Then comes my 3 a.m. snack. How can you deny chicharon with vinegar?  And a bottle of coke? Guilty.

I’m looking forward to Jerilyn’s birthday dinner tomorrow night at Havana. I hope it doesn’t snow too much! Sad face.

sirena cucina

Ronalyn and I love to wine and dine. This week is Norfolk’s ‘Restaurant Week’, and we decided to take advantage of the special deals, plus we never really get to hang out anyway!

The menu at Sirena’s was more expansive than other participating restaurants, so it was difficult for us to choose what to order. We both got the carpaccio di manzo as an appetizer. I ordered the polla alla romano (as pictured above) for my entree and panna cotta for my dessert.

More pictures ahead…

friday nights

Sushi is the key to my happiness. As long as I’ve loved volcano rolls, I think it is officially time to retire them from my diet. Fried sushi has always been a favorite of mine, but it always leaves me feeling…*meh*. I’m learning to accept raw sushi, plus it makes me feel a whole lot lighter.

My closest friends and I ate at the best sushi joint in town, Domo in Chesapeake. Then we scooped up some Starbucks ice cream, cheesecake, and drinks. Quiet Friday nights are always needed.
